Privacy policy

Effective October 22, 2026. This policy explains what Textbook Agent Rentals, a service of Textbook Agent LLC, collects when you rent from us, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. What we collect

Contact details: your name, email address and phone number.
Addresses: your shipping address and billing address.
Order details: the books you rent, your due dates, extensions, returns, and charges.
Payment details: your card is collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We only see the card type and last four digits.
Basic site data: a small cookie keeps your cart working while you shop. Our web host may also keep standard logs, like your IP address and browser type, for security.

2. How we use it

To process your rental, ship your books, and handle returns.
To send emails about your order: confirmations, due-date reminders, and notices about extensions, late fees, purchases, refunds, or damage.
To charge your card on file as described in our rental terms.
To prevent fraud and keep our store secure.
To answer your questions and keep the records the law requires.

3. Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information. We share only what’s needed with the companies that help us run the store:

Stripe, to process and store payments.
Shipping carriers such as USPS, UPS and FedEx, to deliver your books and your returns.
Our email and web hosting providers, to send emails and run this site.
A collection agency, only if a balance goes unpaid for 30 days, as described in our rental terms.
Authorities, when the law requires it.

4. How long we keep it

We keep order and payment records for as long as we need them to finish your rental and for our tax and accounting records. After that, we delete or anonymize them.

5. Your choices

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. We may need to keep some records the law requires.
Order emails are part of your rental, so they can’t be turned off while a rental is active. We don’t send marketing emails without your permission.

6. Security

We use secure connections and trusted providers to protect your information. No system is perfect, but we work to keep your data safe.

7. Children

Our store is meant for college students and adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here with a new effective date.
